Steel Suspensions

In trying to figure out why the Steel were so desperately shorthanded this weekend, I finally decided to look on the team's transaction list. Courtesy of the massive brawl in Dubuque on December 15th, four Steel players received two-game suspensions: Defensemen Joel Benson and Sam Piazza, and forwards Thomas Ebbing and Charlie O'Connor.

All four players' suspensions will be over after today (Saturday)'s game in Muskegon. Johnny Wingels didn't get a suspension, and also hasn't skated either game this weekend. No word yet on him, nor why the team felt the need to call up Biagio Lerario just to not skate him.
